PASINAYA 2016

Everyone is invited to take part in a variety of exciting activities for families and children in Pasinaya, the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ annual open house festival on February 7, 2016 starting 8:00 am at various CCP venues. Under the theme ‘Family and Children’, the event forms part of the children’s programs of the CCP.



Pasinaya is the biggest multi arts festival in the Philippines featuring the participation of thousands of artists and hundreds of artistic and cultural groups. If offers to the public on a unique “Pay what you can, See all you can” donation scheme the opportunity to enjoy a sneak preview of the CCP Performance season.

Highlights of the Pasinaya include youth choirs singing ‘Bata Ang Bukas’ by Ryan Cayabyab, a drum and lyre performance by children, screenings of films from Cinemalaya and Animahenasyon festivals, puppet show, storytelling, poetry reading and balagtasan for kids, stage productions of Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland and the like. Different areas and venues of the CCP have been zoned and dedicated to the various art forms such as dance, music, theater, film and the visual arts. There are zones devoted to workshops and children as well.

Festival Passes:

Regular Pass — Suggested minimum donation of P 20 with access to all CCP venues and museum tours for the whole day on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pas-Pass — P 300 with Pasinaya Special Baller, Priority Lane entry to all CCP Venues, access to museum tours for the whole day on a first-come, first-served basis.

Mag-anak Pass — P 1,200 good for family of 6 with Pasinaya Special Baller, Priority Lane entry to all CCP Venues, access to museum tours for the whole day on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bayanihan Pass — P 3,000 good for 6 persons with dedicated One Box for the group at the CCP Main Theater performances during the festival, Priority Lane entry to all CCP Venues, access to museum tours for the whole day on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pasinaya is presented by the Cultural Center of the Philippines and is headlined by the CCP’s own resident companies, namely, the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, University of Santo Tomas Symphony Orchestra, Ballet Philippines, Philippine Ballet Theater, Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group, Bayanihan Philippine National Folk Dance Company, National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA), Philippine Madrigal Singers, Tanghalang Pilipino, and visual arts artists-in-residence the Association of Pinoyprintmakers.

The Association of Pinoyprintmakers and the Philippine Art Educators Association will be holding a number of workshops inside the CCP’s Bulwagang Juan Luna (Main Gallery). These include the following:

Philippine Art Educators Association (PAEA)

1) Turuan (Playing of Philippine Indigenous Instruments)
2) Daluyan sa Sining (Drawing and Doodling)
3) Buhay makulay (Fun with colors: Coloring activities)
4) Sining Kabuhayan (Arts and Crafts)

Association of Pinoyprintmakers (A/P)

1) Banderitas! Rubber print workshop: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
2) Tsinelas-anak ng bakya! Rubber print project by Joey Cobcobo: 1:00 - 6:00 pm
3) Garapata! Silkscreen project by Dex Fernandez: 1:00 - 4:00 pm

Partner institutions, namely, Metropolitan Museum and Museo Pambata on Roxas Boulevard, National Museum on P. Burgos Drive, Rizal Park, Casa Manila, NCCA Gallery, and Bahay Tsinoy in Intramuros, 1335 Mabini Gallery in Ermita Manila, and Museo Marino will be opening their doors to the public for Pasinaya on February 7. The latest to join Pasinaya this year are the University of the Philippines Manila Museum of A History of Ideas, and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) Cinematheque Manila. Aside from the exhibits on view at these partner institutions, performances and film screenings are scheduled. The Museum Foundation of the Philippines will be supporting the museum tours by providing vehicles to get to each venue.
