After Manila Zoo, we went back to Rizal Park just in time for the start of the Light and Sound/Dancing Fountain Show.
Rizal Park’s version of the Light and Sound Show, which runs continuously from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm, is open to the public.

It has been a long long day for us, really ... and I’ve been feeling tired and spent and greasy ... but the kids love the outdoors and the ongoing spectacle at the park.

Food stalls and vending machines dotted every corner of Rizal Park at night so you definitely won’t get hungry.
Staple food for the kids: a bottle of orange juice and a bag of cotton candy.
During the tail end of the show, Kimmy and Adrienne had a grand time chasing their rubber-propelled plastic propeller across the park.
The kids were quite heartbroken when it was time to head home. Can’t even begin to tell you about the drama that ensued.
I guess the outdoors really runs through their veins.

If you’re tired of going to the malls and other chill places in Metro Manila, I highly recommend that you visit Rizal Park at night especially if you’re coming along with your family and friends during the summer season.
It’s cool and festive down there — just bring your summer essentials. Security’s not even a problem with plenty of armed security guards roving the area 24/7.
And except for that “horrible” encounter with an annoying toy vendor, it was a wonderful and singular experience for me, my sister and the kids that will be talked about for a long time if not a lifetime.
It was after-all our first time. And to think that I’ve been living here in Manila the last 16 years.

Now here’s my mom and her gang chillin’ in Rizal Park circa 1972-74.

How time flies?
