Everyone is invited to attend two artist talks by artists whose works are currently on exhibit at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).

Jesus “Jojie” Lloren: July 14, 2015, Tuesday, 3:00 p.m.

At 3:00 pm on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, fashion designer Jesus “Jojie” Lloren will be presenting a talk in relation to his current exhibit Musings With The Muses. This is the first exhibition of the acclaimed designer at the CCP. The exhibit is his tribute to Philippine visual art and features forty new designs that emulate a concept, motif, or style of a Filipino artist. The resulting collection is eclectic as it reflects the phenomenon of “complex multifariousness” characteristic of contemporary art. Still, they are bound by Lloren’s signature style. Musings With The Muses may be viewed at the Bulwagang Fernando Amorsolo (Small Gallery), and is accompanied by the exhibit Access featuring the photographs of Jo Ann Bitagcol at the Pasilyo Victorio Edades (4F Hallway Gallery). Both exhibitions are on view until July 23, 2015.

Melvin Culaba: July 15, 2015, Wednesday, 2:00 p.m.

The next day, at 2:00 pm on July 15, 2015, artist Melvin Culaba will be giving a talk in line with his exhibition Marker, currently on view at the CCP’s Pasilyo Vicente Manansala (2F Hallway Gallery). Culaba graduated with a degree in Fine Arts, Major in Painting, from the University of Sto. Tomas in 1993. He began joining art competitions from as early as 1991, and had his first solo show in 2004. Culaba has won numerous local painting awards, including that of the Art Association of the Philippines, the Metrobank Foundation, the Phillip Morris Group of Companies Philippine Art Awards, and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Art Competition, among others. He was a recipient of the Vermont Studio Center residency in the U.S. in 2005 and was the Philippine representative to exhibit at Nord Art in Budelsdorff, Germany in 2012. Marker is on view until August 16, 2015.
