“MIGHT HAVE BEEN LULLABIES” AT ALTRO MONDO ARTE CONTEMPORANEA

Friday, March 27, 2015

Altro Mondo Arte Contemporanea is pleased to present “Might Have Been Lullabies,” an exhibition of new works by Aldrine Alarcon, Don Bryan Bunag, Lawrence Cervantes and Marvin Quizon at the Altro Mondo Arte Contemporanea (3rd Floor, Greenbelt 5, Ayala Center, Makati City).

Writer Owel Alvero describes the show as “a document of transition. We see several depictions of a past obscured by distance, simultaneously existing as a past made clear by the understanding that comes with age. Ceremonial in spirit, the works of Alarcon, Bunag, Cervantes, and Quizon all pay homage to playthings and context. The plaything seemingly transformed into metaphor, the context as the line drawn between a hazy nostalgia and the comprehension of the here and now.”

Aldrine Alarcon, a graduate of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, is a recipient of various citations and awards from various art competitions. Don Bryan Bunag, Lawrence Cervantes and Marvin Quizon, all graduates of Bulacan State University and award winners in their own right, are participants of Altro Mondo’s mentorship program.

“Might Have Been Lullabies” will be on display at the Altro Mondo Gallery, 3rd level, Greenbelt 5, Ayala Center, Makati City until April 12, 2015.
