The Alliance Française de Manille’s Cine Club Wednesday presents: Ne Le Dis À Personne (English: Tell No One) on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, 8:30 p.m. Admission is free!

Ne Le Dis À Personne is a 2006 French thriller film directed by Guillaume Canet and based on the novel of the same name by Harlan Coben. Written by Canet and Philippe Lefebvre and starring François Cluzet, Marie-Josée Croze, André Dussolier, Kristin Scott Thomas, Nathalie Baye, François Berléand, Jean Rochefort, and Canet, the film won four categories at the 2007 César Awards in France: Best Director (Guillaume Canet), Best Actor (François Cluzet), Best Editing and Best Music Written for a Film.

In the film, Margot Beck was murdered by a serial killer eight years ago, and her husband, Dr. Alexandre Beck, continues to mourn her death. One day, the police discover two dead bodies near Alexandre’s home, along with a cache of evidence implicating him in the crime. On the same day, Alexandre receives an email with a video showing his wife alive and well, along with a simple message: “Ne Le Dis À Personne.” With the police breathing down his neck, Alexandre goes on the run.

Ne Le Dis À Personne was well received both critically and commercially.

Academy Award-winning British actor Michael Caine said of the film it was the best he had seen in 2007 on the BBC’s Film 2007 programme. He also included it among his Top Ten movies of all time in his 2010 autobiography, The Elephant to Hollywood.

“Il y a déjà eu, au cinéma, quelques façons remarquables de raconter une histoire d’amour alliant force, pudeur et dignité. En voici une inédite. C’est une bonne nouvelle.”

The film, which is 2 hours and 11 minutes long, will be shown in its original version with English subtitles.

Film screenings are subject to changes without prior notice. Entrance is free but on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations.

Alliance Française de Manille is located at 209 Nicanor Garcia Street (formerly Reposo Street), Bel-Air 2, Makati City.
