HBO IS THE NEW HOME OF THE OSCARS IN ASIA

HBO Asia recently announced that HBO is the new home of the Academy Awards®, also known as the Oscars®. Subscribers across 18 territories can enjoy the complete Oscars® experience broadcast live on HBO Asia’s channels — from the nominee announcement and red carpet segments, to the 87th Academy Awards® show and for the first time ever, backstage access to the winners. HBO Asia is the only regional network for the Academy Awards®.



“With HBO as the new home of the Oscars® in Asia, Hollywood’s most watched and anticipated television event is now available live to subscribers as a complete Oscars® experience,” said Jonathan Spink, CEO, HBO Asia. “And for the first time in the history of the Academy Awards®, viewers can watch winners backstage in a live feed, shown to Asian viewers on HBO.”

The biggest awards show in the world which honours the year’s best films, performances and achievements in cinema will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris in 2015. This is the first time Harris is hosting Hollywood’s most prestigious, glamorous and eagerly awaited event of the year.

Viewers in Asia can catch the complete live broadcast of all the Oscars® programmes on HBO and HBO HD at the following times.

The Academy Awards® is always a special evening... full of glamour, glitz, famous faces and wonderful moments. Our pre-show live coverage emanates from the red carpet arrivals area in front of the Dolby Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. Get up close with Hollywood’s elite, as this year’s show is poised to capture even more of the action as the stars arrive for their big night. The first broadcast position on the red carpet affords some of the best interviews with this year’s Academy Awards® nominees and presenters, including showcasing the night’s fashions.

Live from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, it’s the arrivals of the most glamorous film stars prior to the primetime Academy Awards®. Correspondents will be interviewing the nominees and celebrities as they walk down the “red carpet” to the awards ceremony. Show will also include exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage.

Airing live from the Dolby Theatre in the heart of Hollywood, The 87th Annual Academy Awards® is the most prestigious, glamorous and eagerly anticipated event of the year. The biggest award show in the world, honoring the year’s best films, performances and achievements in cinema. All the glitz, glamour and celebrity you can handle, packed into approximately 3 hours. It’s Hollywood’s biggest night of the year featuring the world’s most illustrious stars gathering to honour their peers in the motion picture industry.

Acclaimed motion picture, television and theater producing partners Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will produce the 87th Academy Awards® Telecast. Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.

Award-winning star of stage and screen, Neil Patrick Harris, will host the 87th Oscars®, show. This will be Harris’ first time hosting the ceremony. A triple-threat performer, Harris has enjoyed a successful career in entertainment. He can currently be seen starring opposite Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike in David Fincher’s critically-acclaimed feature film, Gone Girl. Harris garnered multiple Emmy® and Golden Globe® award nominations for his role as Barney Stinson on the hit television series, How I Met Your Mother, and he won an Emmy® for his guest-starring role on Glee in 2010. He also recently starred in the title role of Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway, earning the 2014 Tony Award® for Best Actor in a Musical. Harris served as host of the 61st and 65th Primetime Emmy Awards®, as well as the 63rd, 65th, 66th and 67th Tony Awards®, for which he won four Emmys®. Most recently, Harris added the title of author to his list of accomplishments with the release of his autobiography from Crown Publishing, “Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography.”

After the ceremony, live from the red carpet, and inside the Dolby Theatre, join us for full coverage and recap of the evening, the winners and other nominees, plus an inside look at some of the hottest post parties in town.
