A civil engineering degree holder from Silliman University, Abueva worked with construction company DMCI before becoming a full-time painter in 1994.

Her works are characterized by brilliant colors and a positive vibe. Abueva says her works “give glory to God.” Her paintings have been collected by the Consunji family of DMCI, the National Museum, and the University of the Philippines Faura Museum. She has won a Philippine Art Award.

The Water Dragon Gallery at RCBC Plaza is a space dedicated to offering fine artworks for sale. Located at the second floor of the Yuchengco Museum, the gallery is open Monday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
