This October, the Philippines’ largest and longest running Bellydance event, Bellyfest, brings you more stellar talent, more middle eastern allure and more shimmying. Bellyfest 2014, The 8th Philippine Bellydance Festival presents two big names in the international bellydance world to headline the festival; fabulous Oriental Dance Performer and Choreographer, Anusch Alawerdian from the Netherlands and well-known Egyptian Drummer, Composer and Folk Dancer, Karim Nagi.

Anusch Alawerdian has been performing and teaching bellydance all over the world and was the resident main performer for Arabian Nights Village in Abu Dhabi. She is the organizer of the annual International Summer Bellydance Festival in the Netherlands.

Karim Nagi is world-renowned for producing Arabic music with an innovative twist and has collaborated with amazing artists such as Alicia Keys, Bellydance Superstars, Bellytwins and the Urban Griot Project. His Turbo Tabla series has gained recognition worldwide.

Sharing the stage with Anusch and Karim is no less than the Philippines’ Dance Diva Ms. Regine Tolentino who will be performing her style of passionate belly dance. Regine has hosted and performed in countless dance TV shows and variety shows has gained a huge following as a dancer and dance instructor because of her high-powered choreography.

Joining them for this year’s Gala Show is the Philippines’ premiere bellydance group, the Goddesses of Bellydance (Raks by the Sea grand troupe winner in 2013) as headed by Manila’s leading belly dance performer Ms. Jill Ngo (organizer of the Bellyfest) and Mr Arjae Vitug, an up-and-coming bellydance sensation who won in the 2014 Raks by the Sea competition as grand winner and is also the Mr. ISBF winner from the Netherlands.

Some featured performers include Rachel Guevarra, Desert Sirens, Inez Ponce de Leon, Indak Oryantal, UP Diosa, Maffie de Hoyos CCMFDS Pro group, Tonette Mendiola, Pam Servando and students, Donna Mae Salubayba and students, Polynesia Dance company, Donna Miles and Ms. Nilda Boquiren.
