What better way to begin campaigning for a world without strangers than with an eight-hour music festival that welcomes people from all walks of life. Giordano Philippines celebrates its 25th anniversary in the country with the World Without Strangers Music Festival on Friday, July 4, 2014 at the Glorietta Activity Center, Palm Drive. The free admission festival starts at 1:00 p.m.

The event will be hosted by Boys Night Out, and feature 15 local bands, including Callalily, Sponge Cola, Urbandub, Franco, Up Dharma Down, Gracenote, Techy Romantics, Taken By Cars, Kala, Autotelic, Join The Club, Cygnet, Maude, Hidden Nikki and Yolanda Moon. Giordano Philippines brand ambassador Rico Blanco will also be at the event and perform his latest single, “World Without Strangers”. The official lyric video of the song will also be launched during the event.

Set to a light, upbeat tone, the song talks about a world where there is no class or cultural divide; a world where everyone is bonded by a familial tie. Blanco’s signature singing style put a Filipino stamp on the song yet is still relatable to everyone, anywhere in the world.

“I had fun composing the song. It is inspired by Giordano’s vision of a borderless world where people walk hand in hand and celebrate life as one,” Blanco said.

Aside from the music, Giordano will also be recognizing 12 people who have inspired others and contributed to creating a World Without Strangers. These 12 people will be the first World Without Strangers Citizens and range from social workers to artists, writers to taxi drivers.

“The World Without Strangers Citizens are people who work in different industries and come from all walks of life who have done something to help create a world without strangers,” said Bea Lim, Giordano Philippines’ vice president for marketing.

Furthermore, winners of the Giordano Statement Tee Design Contest, which revolved around the “World Without Strangers” theme, will also be recognized during the festival. The winning designs will be available in Giordano stores by the end of July.

“We are thankful to everyone who submitted their designs. We appreciate seeing different interpretations of what a world without strangers mean to different people. And it’s inspiring to see the love for design upheld in the country,” Lim said.
