In his solo exhibit On Line Order, Crispin Villanueva Jr. obsesses on the permutations of the line specifically on his own patterns as an artist. A kind of going back to move forward, that plays into the idea of process as a line of inquiry.

For Villanueva, the line is something that exists as much outside as it does inside the work, both a visible and invisible element of it, equal parts consequence and intention; a versatile and protean and catalyzing conduit for the way it bridges varieties of distance and the way it demarcates shapes and limitations and divides space and time, narrowing the gulf between past and present and extending into perpetuity.

On Line Order had its opening reception at the Pasilyo Vicente Manansala (2F Hallway Gallery) last July 10, 2014, Thursday, 6pm. Crispin Villanueva Jr. will have his own Artist Talk on August 19, Tuesday at 2pm.

On Line Order will be temporarily replaced by the Cinemalaya 10th anniversary exhibit from July 29 – August 15, 2014. It will resume on August 16 until August 24, 2014.
