The Cultural Center of the Philippines presents an exhibition of New York based Filipino artist John Cinco entitled Transmutations II Extended. The exhibit will be held at the CCP’s Pasilyo Guillermo Tolentino (3F Hallway Gallery) from July 3 to August 10, 2014.

Using the artist’s own photographic images as a takeoff point for compositional adventures, Transmutations II Extended presents a series of printed digital collages grounded on abstract principles of the absolute and the timeless—inspired by the modern tradition of the spiritual in non-objective art. Photographic features are released from their connections to the recognizable world through a series of digital transformations and become raw abstract materials open to further manipulation in a process marked by chance and improvisation.

Transmutations II Extended will have its opening reception on July 3, 2014, Thursday, at 4pm. John Cinco will be giving an artist talk on July 9, 2014, Wednesday, 2-4pm at the MKP Hall, 4th floor CCP Main Theater.

This exhibit is made possible with support from Fairleigh Dickinson University and the Philippine High School for the Arts.
