Cignal TV, the country's leading provider of high definition channels is once again setting a new standard in home TV viewing with Dolby Digital Plus Surround Sound.

A first in the country, Cignal TV is offering and enhanced and more powerful sound technology with Dolby Digital Plus Surround Sound. With this new sound technology, viewers will enjoy the cinematic audio experience of their favorite movies and feel the intensity of all the sound effects.

Many would ask what difference the PLUS makes in Dolby Digital Plus Surround Sound. The current industry standard for most home theaters and cinemas is to deliver five full bandwidth channels and one low frequency channel. An example of this technology would be a home theater system made up of five speakers, a sub woofer and a television set. This technology has already been available on Cignal TV's HD channel for quite some time now.

Doldby Digital Plus Surround Sound, on the other hand, is designed for world's next generation devices. It is an evolution of sound technology that allows users to hear superb digital audio whether they are watching on their TV or on their smartphone and tablets. This new sound technology is something that only a few nearby countries have done for television namely Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, China, India and the Middle East. Now, the Philippines has been added to this list because of Cignal TV.

The first HD service in Dolby Digital Plus Surround Sound will be aired on Cignal TV starting June 26, 2014. Dolby Digital Plus Surround Sound starts at Plan 1,590.
