Last year, French baker Dominique Ansel has sparked a legitimate craze in America (and across the globe) with the cronut, a unique mash up of a donut and croissant that has people lining up in the wee hours of the morning to score their allotted six pieces (since the bakery runs out so quickly, they've instituted a six pieces per-person maximum).

Four weeks ago, Ansel intrigued Americans again with his latest creation — the Cookie Shot.

A chocolate chip cookie cup filled with vanilla milk.

Complex City Guide's Claire Onderdonk went to the Dominique Ansel Bakery in the Big Apple to report on the debut of Ansel's latest confectionery marvel.

Yesterday at The Wendy Williams Show, he talks about his wonderful creations — from the Blueberry Cronut, the Dominique Kouign-amann or simply DKA, to the Cookie Shot — and reveals his next mouthwatering treat: the Waffogato, a vanilla ice cream waffle with Belgium waffle bits, lightly salted, and topped with maple-syrup espresso poured on top.

At the height of the cronut’s fame, it was replicated locally by everyone from Wildflour to Dunkin Donuts to SM. It was only a matter of time before someone else replicated the Cookie Shot here in Manila.

And so, just days after the Cookie Shot debut in New York City, Cookie Bar Manila started selling their own cookie shots as a “tribute” to Ansel from their store in Kapitolyo, Pasig.

A box of eight costs Php 320. To order online, click here.
