Nikki Abelardo is an avid supporter of the DIY movement and a full-time crafter. Her hobby-turned-business, Junk Studio, first started as a means of having extra “beer money” during her college days. Junk Studio’s main inspiration comes from upcycling –which is a creative way of recycling ordinary found objects into sustainable eco-friendly goods. Pop Art, Nostalgic icons & Geekery are some of the various themes that influence Nikki’s work. To name a few, her popular items include resin bottle cap rings, vinyl record bookstands, floppy disk wallets and fabric scrap crafts.
