Thursday, February 06, 2014

Pick up something new at the Casting Resin Jewelry Workshop on February 8 and 9, 2014, 2 p.m., at The Collective. This workshop is headed by Junk Studio and Craft MNL.

Try your hand at making resin jewelry with Junk Studio’s Nikki Abelardo. The two-day workshop covers preparation and application of resin, jewelry design, and finishing. Nikki Abelardo is an avid supporter of the DIY movement and a full-time crafter. Her hobby-turned-business, Junk Studio, first started as a means of having extra “beer money” during her college days. Junk Studio’s main inspiration comes from upcycling –which is a creative way of recycling ordinary found objects into sustainable eco-friendly goods. Pop Art, Nostalgic icons & Geekery are some of the various themes that influence Nikki’s work. To name a few, her popular items include resin bottle cap rings, vinyl record bookstands, floppy disk wallets and fabric scrap crafts.

The workshop fee is P3,600.
