Davies paints! An exhibit Inspired by scriptural characters and by Filipiniana. Catch Amelia Medina Davies' second solo exhibit opening on Feb. 16, 2014, at the Galeria de las Islas, 3rd level, Silahis Center, Gen. Luna St., Intramuros. Parking is available.

Special guest of honor on opening day is Ms. Cheche Lazaro.

Featuring latest works in mixed media with subjects that are dynamic and fascinating to the artist. Her medium usually dictates the outcome of her paintings, particularly seen in “Tatay,” a typhoon Yolanda-inspired work infusing thick paint that seems to sway on the canvas, depicting havoc caused by the recent calamity. As a Christian, she finds inspiration from the Word. Her works of Biblical characters and events are painted from imagination, challenged by a desire to infuse creativity to her subjects to downplay their somber themes. Constantly exhilarated by people, events, and Biblical stories, her work continually evolves to capture images that are truly unique and memorable.

The exhibit runs through Feb. 25, 2014. Galeria de las Islas is open daily including Sundays and Holidays from 10 am to 7pm.
